I am delighted to welcome you to yet another inspiring blog post. The previous blog article was on the topic “THE LATTER DAYS OF A WOMAN.” We discussed the divine demands placed upon women and the awakening to the glorious purpose God has designed for them. If you haven’t read it yet, you can access it by clicking here.
Today, we will be exploring the topic of "character", not from a moral standpoint, but from a spiritual perspective.
There was something similar to the women of past generations—a quality that is increasingly absent in today’s world. If this deficiency is not addressed, it could lead to catastrophic consequences within homes, ultimately affecting the kind of fruits (offspring) such homes produce.
Let’s take Ruth as an example. Ruth is a remarkable figure in the Bible, known for her kindness, loyalty and faith. She was a moabite woman who lived in Moab with her husband, Naomi’s son, and her mother-in-law, Naomi. Tragedy struck, leaving her widowed. Despite this, she insisted to follow and accompany Naomi to Israel.
Her characteristics and legacy were: loyalty, kindness, faith, trust, humility, hard work and inclusion in Jesus’ genealogy. These traits were not merely a product of moral upbringing but the result of an inner spiritual transformation. There was a divine working within her that enabled her to exhibit such characteristics—qualities that cannot be instilled solely through moral instruction.
In today’s world, women with character shaped by the Spirit are few, and even women with character based on morals are becoming scarce. This raises an important question: How can a child predestined for greatness be raised into God's original design when the raiser and nurturer—the woman—is flawed?
The kind of character that builds a good home and ensures generational greatness is that which stems from the Spirit, transforming from inside out. These characters are rooted in the "fruits of the Spirit." The fruit of the Spirit is what births character. Moral character isn’t enough to uphold the principles necessary for building a home according to God’s design.
Consider this: a fruit contains a seed, and when that seed is planted, it grows into a tree of the same kind. But if the seed is bad, the resulting tree will also bear bad fruit. Now imagine being a bad fruit that reproduces—what kind of tree would grow from you?
Dear woman, moral character alone is not enough to build the kind of home God intends. You must be built by the Spirit and exhibit His fruits and His life. You might be wondering, "What are these fruits?"
The fruits of the Spirit, as outlined in Galatians 5:22-23, are:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Long-suffering
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Faithfulness
- Gentleness
- Self-control
In our next blog post, we will explore these fruits individually and discuss how they contribute to building the kind of home God has envisioned. Stay tuned! 😊💖
