Wails and groans and tears did not cease in the land of a people.
Days became weeks and weeks became months and months became years. These years summed up to twenty years!
In these twenty years, the wicked forces of exploitation, dehumanisation, coercion and fear did not cease. It was a norm.
They had deviated from the Lord and the mighty hand of His covering. They set aside the ways of Him who was their deliverer. They were left to the passions of their own ways that only led to death.
“Ha ha ha!” The oppressor laughed.
“See the mighty people fallen down in fear and trembling before me.
I will make sure to exploit them till they are stripped of their identity. I will make use of the nine hundred chariots fitted with iron in my possession. They are captives and will never be free.” The oppressor chanted these words daily like a mantra.
Enough is enough! The struggle became a catalyst that stirred up the desire to be free from the wicked oppression of the oppressor.
“How do we turn the tables around? What do we do to take back our possession and reclaim our freedom?” The people pondered on these questions as the quest and hunger for liberty grew.
“Yes! We have a deliverer! A deliverer mighty to save!
What pleasantness does it give to the ears that a people who had a deliverer are oppressed by the oppressor?
"Yes, we have turned away from the mighty hand of His covering.
We went after the passions of our ways and neglected the One who is mighty to save and always indeed saved us."
"We will cry to Him for help that He may save us from the wickedness of the oppressors.
O deliverer! Hearken unto our cry this day. Set us free from the wickedness of the oppressor.”
He heard. The deliverer heard.
They cried for His help. He couldn’t resist the cry for help.
A broken and a contrite heart He will not despise.
He brought them the solution and the strategy for gaining victory over their oppressor.
This answer, this solution, this deliverance, He laid on the shoulders of a woman.
A woman fervent as a messenger, guide, and intermediary between the divine and humanity.
Her role as a prophetess did not stop her from being a wife, and being a wife did not stop her from being a prophetess.
With great courage, she took up the course of setting her people free. They came by war, we go by war!
“Go, ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them up to Mount Tabor. I will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.” These were the words of the great woman, Deborah.
They were ready to fight and defeat the oppressor. Charge!
Feminine yet a warrior!
Feminine yet commanded respect!
Feminine yet knew the mind of God!
Feminine yet, wisdom was at her beck and call!
Feminine yet a deliverer!
Feminine yet led a troop of soldiers to war. The time of freedom had come!
Feminine yet, an intermediary between the divine and humanity!
The oppressor? Of course, they were brought in obedience to the mighty hand of the One who saves. They were subdued and destroyed.
Hallelujah! Freedom at last! The honour was delivered into the hands of a woman.
The former feeble people knew strength at the order and leading of the woman of war by the help of the One who saves and delivers.
And now the triumphant sound of songs and hymns filled the atmosphere.
A people had just been delivered.
Dear woman, beautiful and strong. Meticulously created by the Creator for the purpose of such things as Deborah did and even more.
Rise up to your full potential! There is more to you than what meets the eye.
Inward, there is something about you the Creator has deposited.
Your name can be inscribed in rubies on the walls of history. Imagine your name inscribed in rubies on the walls of history for the impact you will make.
Assume your position! The change you seek is in you! Arise in the name of the Lord and do His good will!
One thing to take away from Deborah’s story is that she knew God, and so she could accomplish all she did with the help of God.
Likewise, you will never be able to arrive at all God wants you to if you do not know Him. Outside of God, you will never know what He has for you to accomplish in the volume of the books.
All you need to do to let God have His way in your life is give your life to Him and accept His life. And as you journey with God, you will be opened up to all that you are. Transformation to being God-like becomes activated.
Declare these words with faith and conviction in your spirit: “Lord Jesus, I have come to you today as a sinner that I may receive forgiveness of my sins and be your own. Forgive me and make your own. Help me find purpose and fulfil it. Amen.
If you declared those words, congratulations to you! Welcome to the family of God! You are now a new creation, old things have passed away, all things about you have become new. From your inside out will transformation begin to occur.
